Eligibility Criteria
Eligibility Criteria for High School Head Master
- Must be a citizen of India and a resident of Bihar state.
- A Master’s degree with a minimum of 50% marks is required.
- Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), Extremely Backward Class (EBC), Backward Class (BC), Disabled, Women, and Economically Weaker Section (EWS) candidates will receive a 5 percent relaxation in the minimum marks required.
- The degree of Fazil awarded by Maulana Mazharul Haq Arabic and Persian University, Patna, or Bihar State Madrasa Education Board, and the degree of Acharya awarded by Kameshwar Singh Darbhanga Sanskrit University will be considered equivalent to Post Graduation.
- Candidates must have completed B.Ed, BA Ed, or B.Sc Ed.
- Teachers appointed in the year 2012 or later must have passed the Teacher Eligibility Test.
- The above provision will be applicable to teachers appointed under Zilla Parishad/Municipal Body appointed in 2012 or after.
- It will be mandatory for teachers appointed under Panchayati Raj/Municipal Body institutions appointed before the year 2012 to pass efficiency test.
- The provision of efficiency test/eligibility test will not be applicable to teachers working in schools affiliated to different boards like CBSE/ICSE/BSEB.
- Applicants must be between 31 to 47 years old as of August 1, 2024.
Experience:-
- A minimum of 8 years of continuous service has been acquired in the position of secondary school teacher under the Panchayati Raj Institution and Municipal Corporation as per the State Government’s provisions.
- A minimum of 12 years of service has been rendered in schools with permanent affiliation, primarily obtained through CBSE, ICSE, and BSEB.
- A minimum of 4 years of continuous service has been attained in the position of higher secondary school teacher under the Panchayati Raj Institution and Municipal Corporation as per the State Government’s provisions.
- A minimum of 10 years of service has been rendered in schools with permanent affiliation, primarily obtained through CBSE, ICSE, and BSEB.
Eligibility Criteria for Primary School Head Master
- Trained primary school teachers under Rule 2(ix) of Bihar Primary School Head Teacher Rules, 2024, employed by local bodies and covered by Local Body Teacher Rules, 2020, are included.
- This also encompasses teachers appointed under Bihar State School Teacher Regulations, 2023, and Bihar School Special Teacher Rules, 2023.
- Teachers covered by Bihar Government Primary School Teacher-Transfer, Disciplinary Action, and Promotion Rules, 2018, will not be included.
- Any teacher meeting the criteria can participate in the Commission’s examination.
- Eligibility requires a minimum of 8 years of teaching experience in Government Primary Schools and being 58 years old or younger as of August 1, 2024.
- The retirement age for elderly service is 60 years.
